So I've read every EOD post and you guys have put out some awesome information. I just have a couple of questions a little more specific to my situation. Im an AM2, I will start my package and have it submitted by the end of January I say January becuase Im a fat body and need more time to get in shape. I spent seven months deployed to the desert I completed the EOD warning order, came home got fat and am starting from phase one day one training all over again. I was told I would have to pick a source rate before I could go EOD and if I fail which I wont, will I be rolled back as an AM or as my new rate? Also I am a TAR which is now FTS, Navpers told me I would be automatically transfered to REGNAV which I would love anyhow, is this true? I have heard that if you complete dive school and dont complete EOD school you can roll as a Navy Diver? I dont own my house but do have a dependent who lives with his mother in Another state and have a dog and fiance will I retain my BAH and BAS? If so Will I be in a geo-batchelor type state and live in the barracks? Which again I couldnt mind any less. Im not a runner I brought my scores down from a 1245 mile and half to a ten Im still striving to go even lower will I be frowned upon? The main reason for my switch is I'm beyond bored working on aircraft and would like to serve my country in a more direct way and make a bigger difference than I do or could do now. Thanks for any help in advance, I understand alot of my questions are specific to me but any help is greatly appreciated. Also what is daily life like in dive school and tech school? Im just curious as what I can expect I've had it pretty easy in my career so far and want to be prepared.
