So I made it on the OSC cuts and I'm #16 (2 away on the ISC list). So if I read that Alcoast 341/07 right and was explained to me, I made ISC by 8+ hours on my leagacy rate? Roll EyesI'm not partying til the anchors hit the collar.

CGGoalie,

Congrats! You are correct. You will be an ISC.

P.S. You've given me a few new gray hairs Wink

1. 1JAN08-31DEC08 E7, E8, E9 ADVANCEMENTS AND 1JAN08-30JUN08
E5/E6 ADVANCEMENTS: ON 1JAN08, IS MEMBERS ON MAY 2007 SWE
ELIGIBILITY LISTS FOR ADVANCEMENT IN THEIR LEGACY RATINGS WILL BE
REMOVED FROM THEIR LEGACY ADVANCEMENT LISTS AND MERGED INTO NEW IS
ADVA
NCEMENT LISTS. PLACEMENT ON THE NEW ADVANCEMENT LISTS WILL BE
BASED ON THE MAY 2007 FINAL MULTIPLE SCORE EXCLUDING SWE POINTS.
THE REMOVAL OF THE SWE POINTS WILL ELIMINATE SWE CALCULATION
DISCREPANCIES THAT MAY RESULT FROM DIFFERENT LEGACY RATING EXAMS.
IF THERE ARE ANY MEMBERS REMAINING ABOVE-THE-CUT FROM PRIOR
ADVANCEMENT LISTS, THEY WILL BE ORDERED SEPARATELY AND PLACED
ABOVE-THE-CUT AT THE TOP OF THE IS ADVANCEMENT LISTS.

From what I understand is that you were removed from the OSC list and put on the new ISC list, and anyone from Prior advancement list that was above the cut would be placed above the others, hence the guy who was #1 on the Jan Adv list.
But if ISCM says you made it, then you must be golden...and that even though Chapman is #20 on the ISC list, he will still make ISC.

Hector,

I hope that is the case for me as well, since it appears Goalie is in the same boat as myself and MC saying he will be an ISC at some point this year.

Now if that is the case and depending on when they would advance us, does that change anything in the immediate future for my transfer as an IS1 this summer? I sure don't know. Congrats to those who may have just been given a happy new year treat!

I was curious to know had the cuts come out before the Jan. advancement message, would Goalie and myself (and others above the cut) made ISC on Jan. 1st?

First off, Sorry to Master Chief for the extra grey hairs. I have one hell of a Chief up here that sticks up for me and the shop.

For Chapman, I have gotten the same question here with every sea lawyer coming out of the wood work to give me advice Whisper.

I have to admit that the Alcoast makes it seem that people above the cut in their legacy rate will be ahead on the new IS list that took effect on the 1st?

Granted it, I (plus the fleet) wasn't expecting the revised cut to coming out at all, let alone the 31st of Dec with just hours to go before getting bounced off the OS list. I'm going to let the dust settle and see what the Feb Advancement msg has.

5 days ago I thought I wasn't making the cut, but 1 msg changed it all. Wink

Not sure but i dont think that the cut off list would apply to you as a legacy OS. With IS having its own cut off in the new message i wager that it was already counting you as removed from your legacy rate and only attached to the IS advancement list.
I could be wrong but they had to have had the cut information before the Jan advancement message came out. If you were to be carried over you would most likely have been advanced off that message.
Rumor mill was that someone was sitting on the revised cut offs for a while. I would guess that if that was true they were waiting for the end of the month just to try and avoid this kind of confusion.
Just my two cents spend it how you want

Boy, it makes me really really sad that this is MC Rochefort's problem and not mine! I would really like to be the one to have to tackle all of this and then explain it. Alas, I am just the OS.

Big Grin

I would encourage all of you to call MC Rochefort or email him with tons of questions! Angel/Devil

Im sure they will clear you guys on Feb if that is what the Alcoast meant. Honestly, for both of you Goalie and Chapman for being in the top tier of the list, you very well diserve your anchors. I will feel really sorry if you guys get robbed of it.

I really hope that someone in the one of the leadership positions can pass along what the answer to these questions being brought up are. Then again there may not be an immediate answer to these questions. There is the possibility that the cuts were released a day early and now there are other implications they have to figure out (just one possibility).

There are only two of us below the new ISC cuts that the question of whether the legacy rating cuts put us in line with making ISC. Standing by to hear clarification on these latest questions.

Ok, come to find out Roll Eyes I'm really off the list, no thinks to inncorrect info by the DA staff to my CDR when I got in trouble before the SWE. To make a long story short, I was talking smack to another goalie on "Coast Guard" time after hockey Argue(hence the name), hurt his feel, so he called my unit and I got a non-rec on the June marks, unless I sent a letter saying I'm sorry (No lie). Some really bad info got passed around on my status on the list and PSC never took me off (another story there). So until some else comes up, everyone behind me on the IS list can take one step forward. Violin
Oh well, I guess it's time to figure out what a ISC SWE is going to look like, Unless I get into another hockey fight Curse

I thought about calling for just a second and something told me to just sit back and wait. Don't think I want to bother MC at this point since I am hoping he will be able to answer these questions posted here for me. Well if Goalie is out on this one now (making ISC off legacy cuts) , I guess I am the only other one left with questions.

All,

As you know, the revised May 07 SWE exam cuts were published the day before the IS rating stood up. This has prompted some questions as to what impact (if any) this will have on those members that ended up above the cut on their legacy rating. Know that there are (and have been) some high level discussions regarding this issue.

I don't want to go into detail here on Freds Place, especially since I don't own the issue. For those that are affected, please feel free to give me a call and I will do my best to explain the issue as it stands today. Otherwise, please allow some time for issue resolution.

I appreciate everyone's patience on this.

Thanks MC for keeping me posted, guess it's time to hit the books and get ready for the May SWE. Hopefully I'll be able to score on the ISC SWE like I did on the OSC test.
