Basic Training
Posted
I'm 22 years old and just graduated college. I applied for OCS but did not get accepted and have decided to enlist. I leave for basic training August 26 and am going to graduate as a non-rate and attempt to put my name on the IS waiting list.

I was wondering what is the projected time that I would spend on the IS waiting list?

I've heard that it is possible to "strike" a rate, is this true of an IS?

Are there any places to request out of boot camp that I would be working alongside IS's to give me a more competitive edge of becoming an IS?

Thanks in advance,
Anthony

ANTHONY,
I GOT MY NAME ON THE IS LIST ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO. I JUST RECIEVED MY ORDERS AND I COULDNT BE HAPPIER. TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION THEY ARE DOING 03(SOMEONE PLEASE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG)CLASSES PER YEAR. SO IT WOULD PROBABLY BE A LONG WAIT.
ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
