Hey guys wow the last time I logged onto this site was almost 4 yrs ago when I was shipping off for the navy. Anyway quick question if I'm a prior service CTT coming into the CG what sort of additional training would I need to do other than pit stop? I know I can definetly do the CG version of my navy rating because I worked side by side with them at my last duty station.

Since you are a former CTT, no additional training would be required. Understand that the CG IS rating is a blend of the Navy IS and CT ratings.

If you are truly interested in coming into the CG as an IS you will need to complete the following:

- Speak to CG recruiter. He/she should have a list of MOS's the IS rating will allow to lateral over from other services. CTT is one of them. If the recruiter determines you are a good candidate to transition to CG he will ask the Rating Force Master Chief (RFMC) for the IS rating as to whether you can lateral directly over to IS and if so, what pay grade.

- Must meet all IS requirements: US citizen, eligible for TS/SCI, have normal color vision and hearing.

Note: I'm the RFMC. The only availability in our rating at the current time is at IS3, so I won't authorize any direct laterals above E-4. That's not to say, that if you are prior CTT E-5 or above that I wouldn’t entertain you lateraling over to the CG as an IS3. I understand that most people aren't too anxious to take a pay cut, so I understand if you are no longer interested, but I did want to make sure you understand what's at stake. Of course if you are already an E-4, the CG IS rating may be just what you are looking for.

Best wishes either way.
