If I was a reservist IS, what would be the requirements to go active IS?

If you are talking about complete integration into active duty, the only way I think you could do it is go on active duty as IS3 since IS3 is on the open rate list. Best bet is to talk to your local recruiter. They will have the most up to date info.

When I contacted them they stated that you needed to have a Top secret and an open billet for your rank. Has anyone else run across this?

That is true. To lateral to IS (on the active side Im pretty sure only IS3 is open) you need to submit your SSBI package and complete your SCI screening. If you're not getting solid answers from anyone, your best bet is to go through your chain and get a hold of the Rating Force Master Chief...ISCM David Rochefort. He post on here so hopefully he will see this and chime in.

5216279 is correct. Currently only IS3 is on the Open Rating List for active duty (IS1, IS2 and IS3 for reserve).

If your intereested, feel free to send me an e-mail explaining your specific situation/request and I'll point you in the right direction.

ISCM Rochefort
