I am curious to know where IS's would be stationed...I heard they are starting to get underway on cutters as well. And what would an IS do on an "average" day! Thanks for the help!

foxgrom,

We will have IS's on some cutters and IS's are currently located throughout the Coast Guard to include Area, District and Sector staffs as well as major intelligence production centers such as the CG Intelligence Coordination Center (ICC) located in Maryland and both our Maritime Intelligence Fusion Centers (MIFCs) located in Alameda, CA and Virginia Beach, VA.

Send me an e-mail and I'll send you a CG CENTRAL link where you can find out much more about the IS rating.

Other IS billets are located in Texas, Hawaii, Denver, and Fort Meade. These billets are Cryptologic Units.

I had a question pertaining to the billets for IS as well. I was curious if there were any billets or future billets in district 7 other than in Miami such as the Carolinas??? I also saw somebody heard a rumor of IS going to a critical rate. Was wondering if any of the Master Chiefs could shed any further light on this?? Thanks for your time.
