I am currently in the proccess of going through the steps to join the Coast Guard, I just recently took my ASVAB, and am preparing for the next part of the recruitment process.
The two rates in particular that I'm interested in are OS and IS. As it stands IS is at the top, so I was just curious to get some basic info on the day in the life of an IS.
What is the work flow/conditions like, what civillian oppurtunities exist after leaving the coast guard, any huge negatives to the job?
If stationed on a boat, are their any LE oppurtunities available?
Also are there any advanced training oppurtunities available? (intelligence degree programs etc.)
