Hey IS types, I'm actually an OS1, but posting this for an IS1 buddy of mine stationed in Baghdad, Iraq. He took the ISC SWE, and is really, really wanting to know what the scores look like. He was telling me there was some place on CG Central where the IS's discuss their scores, being IS's, cheat codes to contra, etc... I can't find it. If anyone can direct me to this so I can hook the guy up I would appreciate it. You can just e-mail me in global if you don't mind.
Ok, I didn't have to take this SWE but I am suprised that NO one is posting what there raw scores are. Since there are some of us that don't have access to CG Central, we cannot look at those message boards to see how other people did on the test. Start posting your scores!

Didn't have to take it either (c'mon June message!) but I was also wondering about this. When we took it last May there was a pretty sizable thread. I honestly wonder how many IS1s even took it this go around, or how many were eligible.
I just hope the 15 people that made the cut last time 15 more didnt fill the empty spots. I'm saying around 15 or so probably took it this time but who knows.
you forgot a few scores and you were a tad bit off from what I see. Of course, this doesn't account for everybody either. I'm hoping my other points hold up to some that may have little to no sea time and/or might have been in less than 8 years. I feel 50/50 where I'm at and my chances. Hopefully the scores stay low.
After reading the few posts on here the scores are:
I'm wondering (just like most) just how many actually took the SWE. Seems far less than last year, although nothing to confirm/deny. I know ISC is at 100% so, I'm not sure how deep the cut is going to be. I'm hoping some of this "growth" the IS rate is supposed to go thru is factored in for this cycle and for positions in 2010. And I'm sure the economy is going to be a driving factor to some of this as well. I've heard a lot of Coasties in general have pulled their retirement letters due to the poor economy. Too bad because, it holds everybody else back. I guess we'll see. Good luck to all.
Speculation on how many ISC's might be made off the 09 SWE is a hot topic amongst people I work with. I'm sitting in the top 10 off the test. How deep can they go? At my unit, we have an ISC that just made it June 1st, and he isn't transferring, and we're not billeted for an extra chief. The reason for him not tranferring to an ISC billet could be because it's already transfer season and they don't want to make him transfer on such short notice.... and/or because there is no ISC billet for him fill anywhere. However, I was under the impression that ISC advancements only occured when there was a new/or recently vacated ISC billet; not just because it was decided it was time to advance people. Anybody have a take on new billets opening up to keep the advancements to ISC flowing? And why do you think my colleague is going to probably sit in a second/first class billet for another year?

I also have a Chief filling a First Class billet. The billet was initially a First Class billet but had a Chief ordered in instead. Not sure if this was a move to augment Force Optimization plans but he's staying the full tour here. I personally would love to stay at my current billet if I make Chief. I'm hoping least way. I am also not against promoting people to Chief regardless of billet availability. lol. I'm in the top five so I'm really hoping to make it off the first advancement list come January. I know it's a bit of a shot away but doesn't hurt to wish.
Hi #3, I'm #10. I wouldn't worry so much being in the top 3 and all. Last year the initial cut was 8. I have no idea what it is going to be this year...hopefully at least 10.
That is an interesting situation at your command though. I know there are OSC's and OSCS's still filling ISC/ISCS spots, but I'm pretty sure those folks are due to transfer in 2010 which means those spots will be available. There is a method to the madness I suppose.
