It's been going around that they are going to be fusing the FIST teams w/the Sector(s), essentially doing away with the FIST(s). Is there any truth to this rumor?

FIST Norfolk is unique in that it is part of Sector Hampton Roads, not D5. That has in no way eliminated it. The personnel assigned still do all the things that they did beforehand.

I was told by someone present at the creation of the FIST concept that the FISTs were designed to be at the Sector level, not Districts.

FIST's were supposed to have four elements: intel analyst, intel PO, intel Officer, and CGIS agent.

Are they many or even any that have all four components?

There are (and continue to be) high level discussions as to the role of the FISTs.
Questions as to who they should work for (DISTs or SECTORs), FIST composition, etc.

Nothing is decided yet. Once a final decision is made, I'm possitive official notifications will go out.

Master Chief, Seems like the discussion from high above is starting to be more vocal, and the word is spreading to the team leaders level. almost certain by this end of FY more FIST will be switching to the Sector. Roles may/or will change as well depending on the focus of the CO from that particular sector.
I think we have passed the threshold of "rumorville" to "next week's Forecast" .

Here at Sector LMR, Memphis we have one person assigned to the FIST, a civilian. Does that help?

FIST PHila here, been under Sector control for sometime now along with FIST Norfolk. FIST LA/LB coming to the dark side very shortly as well as others. It's only a matter of time. FIST's under Sector not a good idea in my opinion. Restricts us to the COTP's idea of what "intel" should be. Some are into it and some arent. Being under District lets the FIST look at a bigger picture and more of a national aspect of Intel. What are you gonna do though, it is what it is.

Jerry. Some Fist's are made up differantly but I think the standard is Team Leader-LT, Intel PO-ME, Intel Analyst-Civ, CGIS agent & CIO.

Just my 2 cents, love the job though.
