Folks,
I remember reading about the invasion of Sicily in 1943 where a US soldier was watching what a reporter thought was a wasteful using of naval artillery shells before an assault. A US Army private turned to the reporter turned and said "I will pay high taxes the rest of my life so they don't have to throw me instead of artillery shells!" So the next time you hear someone gripping about the money we spend on defense for equipment in Iraq, show them these photos. Everyone in that Buffalo vehicle survived one of the biggest IEDs in history made out of a 250lb aircraft bomb. The red stuff is not blood. It is transmission fluid. Jack E. Hammond A Brand New Buffalo Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle PHOTOS BELOW> A not so brand new totally destroyed MRAP vehicle in Iraq [image]http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b24/hybenamon/LAND/ARMOR/WHEELED/IRAQ%20PHOTOS/MRAP02.jpg[/img] PS> God Bless the South Africans!!!!! NOTE> Goofed. The destroyed MRAP is the Cougar which is the second to highest level of IED protected vehicle in Iraq. The first photo is though of the Buffalo which is used to find and destroy IEDs. Both are 6X6 armored vehicles. But the Buffalo has higher ground clearance -- ie the higher the ground clearance from the V shaped bottom armor the better the explosive force is deflected. . |

This is just a side thing, take a look at the photo with the steering wheel. If you ever saw the steering wheel bent then you should consider possible injury to the drivers abdomen area.

Hah, that reminds me of when we used to drive down that road on Camp Taji with all the dead Iraqi tanks and trucks along the sides. We would be like "Pfffft, I can fix that".
