This is an e-mail written by my best friend to his mom.

quote:

Mom,
You need to do my platoon a huge favor. As soon as you get this, you need to get a hold of your congressman. this is what you need to tell him. my platoon, 3rd platoon 2-16INF 1st ID is down to 19 soldiers including attachments. were supposed to have 45. plus we role out without a medic and interpreter. they throw us into rediculous situations, we shouldnt be in. there's also someone in congress named chris webb, i read an article on, if you could find a way to contact him and tell him the same. thank you. were havin everyone in the platoon do it. my platoon quit today, untill everything changes. i love you, and please make this priority.

This is not right! There is nothing left for them over there isnt there anything anyone can do! Please share this letter and contact senators to help these troops out! Thank you!!

Infantry Platoons in Vietnam operated with less than 19 Soldiers.. an no attachments. and in the middle of nowhere.

and in many cases they maintained their combat effectiveness..

i'm fresh out of cheese.

I'D LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT NOBODY REFERS TO THEIR UNIT AS "3RD PLATOON-XXREGIMENT" THIS LETTER IS A FAKE. ALSO, AT THE END HE SAYS HIS PLATOON "QUIT UNTIL EVERYTHING CHANGES"...WHAT DOES HE THINK THIS IS? BURGER KING? PLATOONS DONT QUIT. THIS IS A FAKE AND THIS PERSON IS INSULTING OUR VOLUNTEER MILITARY.

Hey James ( i'm guessing thats your name cause you used your blogspot thingy), I agree with you. But, the mods here dont like someone saying "Hey come to this website/blog/....whatever" because it looks like spam and thats against the TOS. Either way, its cool man.

Hey, speaking of my name being James, my screenname from military.com doesnt seem to have carried over to the forums. Anyone know how I can fix that? I'm not saying 10644482 isnt catchy, in fact its pretty sexy, I'm just saying James924 sounds even MORE sexy. You feel me?

wow i cannot believe what i am hearing!! anyone remember that unit that quit a few years back and refused to go out the wire? think most of them got into alot of trouble. this country is in serious trouble if we have soldiers that want to just quit when the conditions dont suit them. get off of your sorry ***, lead, follow or get the hell out of the way!! by the way are'nt they paying you a paycheck with all of the nice bonuses? you should be ashamed of yourself. if you are too ***** to out the wire just say so. there are people being hurt or killed on a daily basis and you are whining because the conditions dont suit you right?! I dont personally know your whole story, but the little you wrote you sound like a coward to me.

This is an email written by my best friend's cousin's nephew's boyfriend to his mother.

Quote:

Mom, you need to do my platoon, 5th platoon from Zero Company, 111th Regiment, 4th ID of the 101'st Airborne, Laundry Services Batallion, aka "The Cheese Eaters" a huge favor. Please contact Senator Fatpig as soon as possible, I know you use to blow him behind the Pizza Hut when he worked there as a driver. We are seriously undermanned here now, we are down to only 100 people, and our equipment is crap. They have had us welding steel plates on our dryers because we can't get any thing from KBR these days. Alot of people have been hurt by erratic spin cycles and lint traps that won't close properly and yesterday Sgt. Snuffy's playstation got so full of sand it wouldn't read his HALO 2 disc properly. What we we gonna do? I hear some of the guys are gonna quit and walk home soon. This is the first time I have had a chance to get on the internet in twelve hours, I just don't know how much more we can take. Damn Bush and this horrible war.
Please contact someone.
Love your son Pvt Rusty Trombone

Dear God people how can we just sit by and let this happen?

Big Grin

Heh, I don't think my platoon ever had more than 19 people in it. We were like the red headed step-child bastard platoon of my battalions weapons company, D Co. You only need 3 guys to a truck, M1114 uparmored humvee, so 13+ One was the usual number given to the guys on gate guard, the One being the interpreter.

I think that people need to support the troops over in Iraq, or wherever they are at. because they miss our family, and etc.
Thank you,
Sasha

"ONLY NEWS FROM LEGITIMATE .MIL AND .GOV OUTLETS."

Of course... and getting news from anywhere but the US government is pinko, commie, liberal, homo, treason right?

Just wanted to confirm the requirements of being a patriot in George Bush's America.

Has anyone considered for a minute the possibility that the company was left out on purpose to avoid any repercussions? Since when does a grunt platoon go anywhere without a doc?
