Hi guys.
Let me ask u for a favor. I never served at US army and never being in Iraq. Recently we had discussion at Russian military forum about Georgian and Ukrainian troops. It looks like Georgia really looking to fight with Russia ( can not imagine something more stupid though).
We had opinion notes from some other military forums (very unpleasant for Georgian guys). But I thought that Military.com have to have the widest field for different people to express their point of view.

So here is the question. If u guys ever have any experience with Georgian or Ukrainian troops, what do u think about them?

Also I will appreciate any opinion about other foreign units.

I worked with some Ukrainian troops in 2003 and they were really friendly. They were also highly motivated and seemed pretty disciplined. Overall it was a very positive experience working with them.

The truth is Georgia and Ukraine are pawn of USA. Georgia and Ukraine have ever been part from Russia (not only as territory).
Now they want became part of USA. This is big geopolitical wrong. If Geogria and Ukraine became part from NATO, Russia is ready to start new war, this time again USA !!!

Worked and lived with the Georgians from May 07 to May 08. Slobs, liars, thieves, and fools....and will fight ferociously at the drop of a hat. While their discipline leaves much to be desired, their commitment is top notch and Soldiers you would want at your back. A good addition to NATO (No, they do not want to be part of the USA. Above poster is an idiot)

The "Ukes" are altogether a wonderful group of Soldiers. Well trained, well disciplined, well liked, and also have no problem bringing it to the bad guys. Their cute little "jeeps" with the shiny camo paint, were always a source of jokes for us.

Concur about the Ukrainians. (They have a relationship with the California Guard, right?)
I never dealt with Georgians, but Romanians? Those guys rock. I liked the Italians too when they were there. We traded patches every time we crossed "Italian Bridge", which is "Romanian Bridge" now.

Hey Russian dudes. Ease up. Even during a 50 year cold war, no one in the US ever wanted to invade Russia or take any of the Russian "satellite" nations under our control.
These nations look to us now as partners because they were severely oppressed by communist Russia. The US wants to station anti-ICBM batteries in Ukraine and Georgia to defend NATO against Iranian ICBMs. (Russian ICBMs would go over the north pole, so any Patriot missile batteries in Ukraine/Georgia would not defend us from Russian ICBMs.)

I think after Napoleon's and Hitler's examples the world concurs that invading Russia is a bad idea. Nobody in the US wants to fight Russia. And Russia shouldn't want to fight us.
One of my best soldiers, a great tanker too, was a Russian immigrant who barely spoke english when he got to us. Russians and Americans should be allies again. We're alot more same than different.
