I only know of one other from my NOSC that was picked up for DCO this July. I heard from my sources that 80 out of some 240 board reviewed packages. Only 2 from my NOSC that is crazy to think of how fortunate I am,or maybe just nobody applied from here

I was picked up too and my recruiter told me (Last Tuesday) that out of 209 candidates 85 were selected. Pretty crazy large amount if you ask me. I do know that 4 people were picked up from this recruiter as well.

Found out I was PRO'RCD. I was 43 out of 84, right in teh middle.
What was everyone's ranking? I guess they don't put out how many billets there will be, so not sure how many of 84 they will take on the final select list. Ryan Kobeski Not putting ENS(Select) Supply yet... Superstitous AWR2 9 yrs active currently Reserves Jacksonville, FL |

Congratulations to all of you that have been selected. You will all get soft billets that are under the line in a unit. You will hold this billet until you get through DCO School and Supply School then you will have the opportunity to apply for a regular billet. ENS Matt Current Supply Student |

I will add to my post that your board ranking means absolutely nothing so don't get hung up on it. If you make through MEPs and pass your background investigation, you will all be O-1's (just like me) learning the same stuff doing the same work.
After you commission the first thing you need to do is get your seat at DCO School (mini OCS) in Newport. After you get your quota for DCO School, contact the Supply School (which by the time you go will also be Newport) and get a seat in a Supply Class. With 84 Ensigns coming in and the school moving to Rhode Island the classes will most likely fill up fast. If you are new to the Navy Welcome Aboard, trust me this will be a great experience for you. Did you guys already go through MEPS during your application? I went once and I don't know if my recruiter just does it before the application or if we have to go twice. I'm not sure I can handle going again!!! The huge bruise from my blood draw just now went away!

I went last year and the physical is good for two years. MEPS was terrible. |

Matt, What does a soft billet mean? After talking to a processor she said she wasn't sure how many billets they will have. If you are PRO'RECD you should get a billet right? My understanding is there was a PRO REC list and an alternate list right? |

Rkobo25,
As a Supply Student your primary job is to complete and pass DCO school and supply school and earn the 3105 designator (when you commission you will be a 3165). Every officer has to hold a job on a RUAD so you can be paid, but there is a line on the RUAD where officers that are assigned to the unit permanently are above the line and supply officers in training which are just temporarily part of the unit they graduate supply school are below the line. You will be placed in a unit probably as close to your home as possible that has supply officers or SKC's that can mentor you. This main difference is you are not competing for a billet they are making one up for you so you can become a Supply Officer. If the Navy has just brought in 84 Suppos there is no shortage of billets. Remember your first real billet will most likely be forward deployed in an expeditionary role in Iraq/Afghanistan or another theater supporting the GWOT. |

Not sure when everyone is going to start buying new uniforms, maybe after the final select list? Matt when did you buy your uniforms? If you find a place with good prices besides the Exchange Post it here.
