Hi, I'm 17 and am joining the DEP. I have wanted to be a Marine for my entire life and can't believe its finally happening. I'm going to choose 03XX as my MOS and an enlisting as active duty.

My question is, are there any signing bonuses or anything like that I can get for joining now. I'm not joining for the money at all; I would join the Marine Corps even if all they paid me was food and a place to sleep, but as long as I am joining, I figured I might as well check to see if they will give me any more money.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Talk to your recruiter, no harm in that... if there is money out there to be had, go for it. Just don't let it cloud your overall goal to become a Marine. If money is more important than wearing an Eagle, Globe and Anchor, then look at the Army.

Okay, thank you guys. I will ask my recruiter the next time I talk to him. And if there are any I definitely won't let that stop me from enlisting. This was really just an afterthought, all I want to do is earn the title of Marine.
