hello Marines havent been in here in quite a while. but i have to come in to ask for some advice.

I just recently received an offer for a 4 year full tuition scholarship from ARMY ROTC, and they want an answer by the 28th

problem is that i dont know if i really want to be in the Army, I would much rather be a Marine, but its a hard thing to turn your back on that opportunity to go to college get a degree and come out with good job security.

the Top at my recruiting depot said that ROTC " was a good f_ckin deal and that i should do it"

the other options i have found for myself are to check yes on the letter from the army, and apply for an NROTC scholarship and hope i get it

or check no and enlist in the Marine Reserve and plan on doing the PLC in college

everything points to the Army as my best choice but im not sure if its the right choice...

any insight?

Why don't you talk to the NROTC representative at your college? Im sure he can answer any questions you have.

Contact an Officer Selection Officer for the Marine Corps and ask him about it.
Sometimes you can accept the rotc program for one branch and then accept a commission in another. very rare but I've heard about it.

if you are accepted to a school without an NROTC but there sone in a college in town you can do a cross-camous or cross-town program, where you belong to a NROTC unit but attend a different school.

If you are in high school you need to contact a Marine recruiter and get into contact with his XO. They run the NROTC applications for the Marine side and he may be able to expedite the package.
Remember, you are not obligated under the first year of the rotc program and can back out. You will have to pay the money back in installments, but you can back out.
