I'm a Wannabe with a Private Profile. Please make fun of me as I don't know any better and like to ask stupid Questions.

I know this may be a really juvenile question to ask but bear with me. My familys' of Northern-European descent and I have really sensitive skin that gets sunburned easily - is any type of sun-screen available to recruits in BootCamp? I ask this because I havent read it as being 1 of the items alloted to you and I havent heard of any recruits bringing any with them. I've experienced severe sunburns which are excruciatingly painful (got 1 this weekend climbing Mt Whitney) and I really dont wanna worry about getting 1 in Boot.

Thank You for any replies in advance.

PS: If its not 1 of the items intially available to you - could you get some?

I just checked by typing sunscreen into the find function at the top of the page. The find function still works. The topic has been covered. How bout that?

Yes, it's part of your "bucket issue" you receive the first day in Receiving Barracks. It's 45 SPF or whatever they call it which is the highest rating. However you wear a cover and your sleeves are rolled down so the only parts of your body which are normally exposed are your face, ears, neck and hands. However you will execute physical training in a normal t-shirt and shorts so that tells you what you'll need to cover. Not to worry, you're not the first who's had this problem so everything will work out just fine. Keep the faith, don't stress and life is still good. Best of luck to you.
