Hi gentlemen,

I haven't been on the boards for a while, but I DEPed in on September 1st 2009 with a ship date scheduled for March 15th 2010. Ever since I walked through the doors I have been asking for 26xx. I scored a 128 on the DLAB and 97 on the ASVAB with a 136 GT score.

I was contacted by OPM a couple of weeks ago and they told me that they needed to arrange for a face to face interview. When the FBI Agent arrived at my home last Wednesday he told me that he was investigating my credit report for my security clearance. I got a call Friday from my recruiter and he told me that they were, "Working on getting my DD Contract at MEPS Liason, but it didn't look good because I admitted to experimenting with marijuana 4 times back in 2006."

He then asked me what I would want if I couldn't get DD because I could leave on Tuesday. I told him AJ for Air Traffic Controller. I explained to my recruiter that the FBI Agent did not mention anything about this and asked if they received word back from the FBI regarding their investigation.

So, I got a call back from my recruiter on Monday saying I didn't get DD, but I got AJ and he was picking me up for MEPS to ship out. From what I read while signing for my contract guarantee, I would be rejected for experimenting more than 5 times. I'm wondering whether my recruiter is just trying to fill a slot and ship me out early, because it seems like he's just using the marijuana experimentation to say that I didn't get the cryptologic linguist position.

I have to be suspicious because it seems odd that they (MEPS Liason) hadn't heard back from the FBI on Friday, but they (my recruiter) got a definite answer on Monday. Also, when I took the DLAB, both the MEPS Liason and my recruiter told me that I failed because they read my Raw Score (91) instead of my Total Score (128) from the print out given to me right after completing the test, rather than checking the computer. I had to call Baltimore MEPS HQ, before someone told them I went over their heads before they checked the computer, and low and behold my score was a 128.

My recruiter had no idea that an FBI agent paid me a visit and said that MEPS Liason had not received anything back from the FBI. I really don't know whether to believe my recruiter or MEPS Liason because this is the second time that they have told me to pick another job. Would MEPS Liason really request a background check and have an FBI agent come all the way to my house to ask about my credit report and not ask about the marijuana experimentation since it is the reason I am being told that I am being denied the job? I also find it kind of odd that I would be denied to learn and analyze foreign languages, but they would put me in a position to direct air traffic in the near future if they were so concerned about my marijuana experimentation.

I would really appreciate any input that anyone may have as to whether the 5 time experimentation rule has changed or if I'm just being rushed off to fill another spot. Thank you for your input in advance.

P.S. I accept all responsibility for my past actions and deeply regret it, especially seeing the ramifications now. I just think that I'm not being given a straight answer by my recruiter.
