Marines,

I have have a question regarding the recruiting standards for the USMC and USA.

Quick history: I tried to join the Marines, and then the Army after high school, 2003. I was DQ'd from both since I have a heart murmer (very very minor, no irregular heartbeat or anything).
I tried to get in the Air Foce about a year later (after Iraq started) and was let in. I am currently finishing up my 4 1/2 years (6 month extension) in the Air Force, and am actually writing from Balad AB, Iraq right now.

Does anyone have any knowledge of waivers being assigned due to the need of warm bodies in the USMC?
Thank you.

If you're in Balad contact a Marine and find out who their career planner is. The CP should be able to give you current info on any waivers out there or at least point you in the right direction.

your other option is to contact a recruiter online and ask about an inter service transfer.

I swore in with a heart murmur last July, had to get a waiver for it though.
