My recruiter says that I cant go to MEPS for 2 weeks and after that I cant leave till late August or September. He says that they have like 11 spots a month and there full. I don't have a job right now and bill are starting to pile. I was thinking about going to go work for my uncle in Delaware and I was wondering if I could possible switch recruiting stations to Delaware could I possibly ship faster? or, will it take that long no matter what? Thanks

If you haven't gone into the DEP yet (sounds like you aren't), YES you can switch stations. However there is no saying the situation won't be any different in Delaware.
If you are in already in DEP you can do whats called a "courtesy ship" where the station in Delaware will send you to MCRD on your station of enlistments behalf. However you will still ship out when your original station needs you too.

Sounds like your recruiter has already made mission this month and is looking to get a head start on next month by making you wait. Tell him/her or even your recruiter's NCOIC, to send you up this week or you're moving and will enlist in Delaware...or better yet tell them you're going to enlist in the Army instead. I bet you'll be at MEPS the next day.

Now if they are out of ship dates until late August early Sept. Just get the soonest one....but tell them you will take an early ship if one opens up. At 11 slots a month for 2-3 months, 1 of those 22-33 shippers is bound to drop out for something.

Good Luck

Do you think that PI is really that full or if i switch to a different state that would help. Also, when in the Marines, do you pay state tax on what state you are stationed in or what state you came from. Thanks
