Just thought I would let some wanna-bes know about a movie that I received as a gift from my parents.
I have done alot of research in the past few years pertaining to enlisting in the Marine Corps. My parents knew this and want to help in every way they can to make sure I make a well informed decision. One thing they did was get me the movie "Ears Open, Eyeballs Click." The movie is about a platoons journey through San Diego Recruit Training.
Here is a link to the website where you can order the movie... Order Now I really think this will help some wanna-bes that are considering joining see a small taste of what boot camp might be like.
The movie just made me more excited to join.
I hope I did not step on any toes, I am just trying to help.
Its not bad to use as a reference, but dont get too comfortable thinking that is how Recruit Training is. Remember when a camera is on people behave differently.
The movie is a good to use as a guide, but figure on everything being at least 2-3 times as hard as they show in the movie.
PB did you go thru SD? I knew a Marquez who seemed pretty cool but I never worked with him in the capacity of a Hat. He was bounced? If it's the same guy, probably a Hat Killer (Officer) got him and he's trying to live it down. You never know.
No, I went to Parris Island, but got shipped out to SOI West. SSgt. Marquez is just a Plt. Sgt. in my unit. He was kicked out for Hazing and all that good stuff. Anyway, he's tall and in pretty good shape, latino. Sound familiar?
