Hey I'm joining the Marines soon, not sure if I'm going to do reserves or active duty.. I was woundering if they give good college money to reservist too? Any Advice?
The GI bill for reservists is smaller then active duty but the advantage is that you dont have to pay in to it and can activate as soon as you report to your unit.
I'm not gonna bother with the advice question because you should be smart enough to look around the forums for that kind of stuff
also know that the reservist gi bill expires before active duties, if you are a reservist then you should start using it right away and it expires one year after your contract is done, where as us full time jarheads get up to ten years after our contracts are up
On that note, do not join the Marine Corps just to get money for college. You will very quickly find that you have made a bad decision if that is your sole purpose for serving.
I'm not joining the military, to get college money, I can pay for it easily my self. I have always wanted to be part of the Military, since I was really young. I have my own personal reasons for wanting to be part of the Marines
