Hey guys im new here and i have a couple of questions. Im taking the ASVAB sometime this week and i have taken the practice tests on here at Military.com and im not that good mainly in math meaning i may pass but not with a high score. I would like to go to scout sniper school someday, i dont really care about my score as long as i pass. What do i have to do to go to sniper school???

You have asked one of the most often asked questions. Select the find button at the top of the page. Type in sniper and then any other areas of interest. After you have read through prior post ask any questions that remain.

I suggest that you do some studying in math and any other areas that you think you might need to improve before you take the asvab.

It was a simple question for a simple answer. But I guess some people have a hard time understanding that.

With your low ASVAB scores, you more then likely wont become a sniper.

Well I was suppose to take the test today but for some odd reason my recruiter didn't call, which gives me more time for study. I'll try to improve in the math section, thanks a lot for your input.

You do that. Plus... start learning how to take criticism or grow ticker skin. If you can't handle a little e-criticism, then you'll surely suffer a difficult 4 years in my Marine Corps.

I understood perfectly.... you (like many who post here) want to be a hi-speed, lo-drag sniper capable of raining death from afar.

What you fail to understand is that someone with the potential to fill that role would have posted a question, asking what he could do to get the very best score possible in the math portion. You prefer to squeak by.

That attitude ain't gonna get you very far, buttercup.

wow, i honestly didnt see it that way armorysgt. As you can tell I have much to learn. I really don't pay attention to critisism much anyway but yeah I have to score high now that's for sure. Thanks a lot for the advice, I appreciate it.

Well, you learned something today, didn't you? Cool

Don't settle for mediocrity - don't enlist with the intent on doing the bare minimum and think you will get anywhere - you'll become a S***bird while the over-achievers that will be all around you leave you in their wake. Push yourself now and make it a habit. If passing is "50", push for "75". If passing is 2min. 30sec., do the task in under 2. Get the picture? Marine Corps snipers don't get to where they are by saying "I don't care about the score, as long as I pass". A good attitude and a need to excel will take you where you want to go.

And get that BW taken care of, before I start making phone calls. Wink

Perhaps he reads this forum and found out you don't care about scores.
