Finally, I've taken the next step in joining the Marines! My mom signed the papers for me to go to MEPS so I can take my physical and swear the oath of enlistment. I'm very excited, after all this time, I have finally taken the next step in becoming a Marine.

Now make sure you stay out of trouble.

After you graduate and earn the title, keep yourself out of trouble at MCT.

If you can make it through the first 18-24 months without doing something stupid then you have a chance.

I see too many young Marines showing up to their first command with NJP's for stupid acts.

I'm not the kind of person to do something stupid just because someone else wants to. Don't worry. Wink

Correction....your first step to becoming a Marine will be when you step onto the yellow footprints. Up till then, don't worry. After that you may worry every once in awhile courtesy of the USMC and your DI.

Hang in there and don't forget to make some life long memories before you go so you have something to share with your children and grandchilden when they reach the age you are now. Plus you want to have great stories to share with the other guys in boot and once you hit the fleet.

And of course, what Marine doesn't have the high school sweetheart story?

Yeah Tiger, do yourself a favor and life now because you'll be kicking yourself in the butt for the rest of your life if you blow past these crucial life long memories people your age develop in your tender young years.

Another question. My recruiter says for my insurance on my medical information to go to MEPS, I should put NONE because I'd have to pay to go take my physical? I do have insurance but he sayed to just put NONE anyway?

Why not ask your recruiter for further clarification?

I did yesterday, he still says just put NONE. I also had asked him when he first said, when I first started filling out my medical information.

Great William. Now, I'm worrying you are not going to stick around HS and get your diploma for graduating. On 2nd thought the Corps requires you to have one right?
Besides sticking around campus for another year, you will be glad in the 'long run' you did. It will also make you stronger physically and mentally (IF you keep working out!) Both will keep you from worrying as much.
I am not being facetious....I mean it!

I'm graduating in Jan 2010. I only need 4 more credits to graduate. I'm graduating a semester early, so I can get a job and work until I'm 18 so I can get my License and pay insurance! So don't worry, I've never failed a class. The only thing that's really difficult for me this year is my senior project that's due in Dec.
