Well, I spoke to the wife before I went to work. She gives the thumbs up because she knows how bad I want it. I told her I am not sure what MOS I would like to go for, but I would have no complaints with staying in law enforcement. I will do whatever it takes though. I will talkt to my sergeant at work later tonight about it some more and see if he can maybe help me on the PT side a little more. I do better with PT if I am doing it with someone becuase that is when my competitive nature comes out. Is it possible to go into DEP for about 6 months to buy me some time to lose a bit more weight while I try and get my house on the market, etc...? I guess my next step will be to go ahead and make contact with a recruiter and see what is what and I guess get down to MEPS and take my ASVABS again. Hopefully I won't do too terribly since I haven't been in an academic school for nearly 9 years. I had better brush up on the math I guess.. lol
That's excellent news. I'm glad she shares your enthusiasm. You can spend as much as 12 months in the DEP. But that will depend on availability of the MOS you select (ship date, MOS school seats).
You might want to take a hard look at infantry because you'll work with a lot of different people under varying conditions and as tough as it gets at times, the job satisfaction can't be beat. Just an idea.
