So my OSO finally got everything together to send in to MEPS, and told me that he was going to be sending Monday the 6th of October. My state inspection has expired, but have been flat broke, and was waiting until tomorrow (Friday) to get paid so I can go get what I need fixed and then get the car inspected.

On my way to work yesterday, I was pulled over by a police officer. Unbeknown to me I had a tail light out, and of course got a ticket for having an expired inspection sticker.

Should I call my OSO about this, or would I only need to do that for moving violations, or would it even matter since my packet has been sent off anyways? Thanks. I'll probably end up calling him anyways, but don't want to get myself in trouble by opening my big mouth.

I just call him and give him a heads up. This is no big deal. Marines get tickets all the time, and I only ever saw one get exicuted for it. I really think that had more to do with the 16 year old gurl with him at the time though. Big Grin

You need to disclose this immiediently I don't think you can sign up officially until you have all your fines paid.

They might allow you in and inspect you, but I doubt they'll let you enlist. You'll probably end up having to go back.

The way I understood it you could even be nailed for trying to lie about it. If you said on your paper work no fines/tickets/etc and then you go and they do the back ground check and you have a ticket, youll probably get discharged.

If you bothered to read any of the OP's post, you will see that they are NOT enlisting!

I went ahead and called them after this was posted. He said it was no big deal, I just needed to take care of it ASAP, and send him a copy of the ticket and the receipt for payment. I was relieved. As I'm sure it is for all of you, money is just tight here right now, and my car needs some fixin before I can get it inspected. Looks like I'll be spending the weekend on my back under the hood.

Yeah, no enlisting here. OCS baby. I have MEPS to go through yet, and I'm scared to death I'll get DQ'd on something trivial that I have no prior knowledge of... But as soon as that happens I'll hurry up and wait for OCC 200!

STFU. You need to go back and reread the rules of this forum. As you can see from his post above, he got the same exact answer I told him he would get. Oh and.............
