Does anybody know were to find the current regulations for tattoos. My way of removal isnt the ideal way to remove one. I'm trying to enlist into the corps and the damn tattoo I got when I was in the (I almost hate to say it) Army is what I'm told is holding me back. Its the Oldschool Seamans Nautical Star located just under my hairline on the back of my neck.

I still can't believe that the Corps has a tatt policy.

(I have no ink in this fight, since I don't have any myself.... which I could have expected would have been against policy back in my time.... but still.... the Marine Corps with a tatt policy ? Roll Eyes )

Any Idea what the star stands for smart guy, No! I didnt think so. Not a great excuse but if Id have known the ***** was actually tattooing the damn star insted of what was supposed to be there. I would have never gotten it. Sometimes people can be *****. the Mp's had a great night that night sorting that one out. I never did get into trouble for that one. He decided that getting a couple of teeth knocked out and a broken nose was fair enough for doing what he did.

First off:
Hockey is no "smart guy" Wink

but regardless of that.... you don't come into this house and insult a Marine.

Now scoot along and learn some manners.
(and feel free to apologize to Hockey on the way out the door)

It better happen smart guy...

I'm still trying to decide if I want to pull your plug for the insult or let the Marines chew on you for a while. Wink

I have been reading your posts since you came to this site and I see a pattern that is in need of an attitude adjustment, both in your claims and what you have posted here. Then I found this gem.

In box #28 it reads under 10 USC 972: and gives an 8 day time period from 2005. I fully understand how to read the 214. I would like to re-enlist into the military, preferably into the Navy. However, I do have a DUI for open container dated 102007 (not a Felon.) Over the past year or so I have been told many dif. things about my re-enlistment options. The most recent from the Army was that there is no way at all. One of two Navy recruters informed me that there is still a small amount of hope, The other said no. I dont know if trying the navy reserves would help me out or not. I need to somehow get my last three conduct reports from Ft. Hood. I'm not to sure how I'm supposed to do that, or get the information to do so. At this point I am willing to do anything that I may have to to do to get back into the military. I would love go carrer. If anybody could send me some sort of info. on what I might be able to do to achieve my goals I would very much appreciate it.
in the recruiting forums... I don't think you will do well, in the Corps, with your attitude. Plus, you seem to be making the Corps your 3rd or 4th choice, after not making it in the others.

However, I'm sure if you are still looking for a career path, members here might be able to help, if you choose to stick around. Wink

I had a slight issue while in the Army. Mostly from being married to a fool of a woman sooner then I should have. I never should have. She Caused a lot of issues for me whil I was in. NTM My chain of command was a lil bit on the crap side of the works. Reguardless The Corps was never 3rd or 4th in my book. I was a bit huried to get in the service and the Army took action first. Had I known any of what I do now I would have told em to find the next victim els were. You bet your ass I would make it. Up ntil I got marrie dI was G2G and would have waited the term out and tried my luck with the corps after words. As for attitude, put me to work and see what happens. I don't like sitting around doing nothing, Respect I can give. But Each and Every Person to include a Marine had to earn thiers somehow, corret? If you (as in anybody) were born a Marine, then I'm a bit jellious. My mother told me the same thing about the attitude. My goal right now is not to argue. But I will tell you as I have told many others that when it's game time, then it's on. Failure is not an option. I refuse to let it be. And when I do put on the uniform and I do recieve my Globe and Anchore. There will be no need to tell anybody I told you so. It will be all over me for the world to look at and wounder how in the hell does one go from the guy we new to the Marine standing here in front of us. I'm very serious about what I'm trying to do. So you make your respectable decision about pulling the plug. Reguardless I will adapt to my situation and I will achieve my ultimate goal. "let the Marines chew on you (me)for a while." I'm a tuff piece of chew. But I'll leave that up to you and you fellow Marines. Once upon a time I would never shoot back, But after the trials of life I have been through, I will shoot as soon as I'm fired upon. The Corps has what I need and I'm trying my damndest to get it. But time is not on my side so I have to work hard for what I and what I want will be no easy task. I will earn the ****le of Marine!
P.S. I lost a little piece of my mind after the death of a very close friend, and the loss of the woman I loved and my son, nd that initially drove me to drinking way to much.
"Semper Fidelis" - Always faithful - - And that I will be.

Bottomline is...

You have an attitude that needs serious adjustment...that has been made known.

You are not a Marine, having NOT EARNED the title...prior service in another branch doesn't cut you a huss in coming in here and telling us what to do.

You were advised to go to the "Wannabee Forum" and post there.

Do it.

Well if you earn your EGA... then that speaks for itself.
True.

In the meantime.... your attitude comes across as a bit too e-tough, and it won't sit well with those who have already earned their EGA.

Y'see.... we have nothing to prove to each other here. We already have each other's respect.

But you.... you've earned nothing in our eyes.
So now it's time for you to tone down the 'tude, and find a way to enjoy your time here without stepping on toes.

If you can do that, then you will be tolerated as a contributing member of the forum.
If not.... your expiration date will arrive early.

This is not a taunt to get you e-pizzed.
It's advice which will assist you in surviving here.

You say you want to be a Marine.
The first step towards that is to respect those who have already earned the title.
You are not an equal here. So don't even pretend to be.

Fair enough ?

Well, you did go to another forum, before you came here and said you wanted to join the Navy, after being discharged from the Army. That would seem to put the Corps at least 3rd, in your book. Roll Eyes

We may be dumb Marines, to you, but we can count.
