Hey, I have just enlisted and im going to be a Cryptology Linguist (2600 sig intel.) I still have to take the DLAB. I have ready one or 2 places that the test is not easy to study for. I have grabbed a college level english workbook just to brush up on all my parts of speech, but could use advice on what to look over. Thanks

How did you enlist to be a cypto-linguist if you haven't taken the DLAB yet?

No there is no way to study for it, and it is unlawful for anyone to tell you what's on it.

I took it last year after getting back from Iraq, without having studied grammar since high school and did ok. Not great, but well enough to reenlist for 2671, Arabic Crypto Linguist. Best advise, is read up on your basic concepts of grammar, get ALOT of sleep the night prior, and just relax during the test. And if you don't get a 110, but get near it (say a 108 or 109) tell your Recruiter it's waiverable, because it IS. Several people here on waiver.

Good luck man. This school is a weird place.

Im not a recruiter or anything, but I was told that if you knew another langauge already, say spanish or french, it helps.. I dont know if its true or not, but hey it wouldnt hurt to open a spanish/french or some other langauge and just to see what kind of things they have...I took the DLAB and have 2 years of french and am taking spanish one..and I didnt get it..so.. but Im retaking it in May hopefully..so..well GOOD LUCK. I just dropped my program and I want to reclass as a linguist. I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me if it's a good career to go into if I'm looking to go into Spec Ops a few years down the road.
