Do you know if waivers for people with vision worse than -8.00 are granted usually? I'm pretty sure that my vision is pretty close to 20/20 corrected, but I'm pretty bad without contacts/glasses. I also have mild astigmatism in my right eye, but it's not over the 3.00 mark. Thank you for your help

I know this is a Marine Corp forum but I am an Army ROTC cadet and had to get a wavier for something similar to what you have and five days after I put it in my wavier came back approved. Hope it makes you feel anybetter!
My eyesight is pretty bad, too. -7.50 I was told I couldn't be an MP because my eyesight was too bad. I'm sure I could've gotten a waiver, but wasn't willing to go through all that or wait that long. I'm sure it will work out!
My vision, according to the MEPS doctors, is -9.25 in both eyes and I, too, have mild astigmetism. I wrote my statement/applied for my waiver and I believe my recruiter called me to tell me about the approval about a week later.
