I am currently in the Marine Corps DEP, and my MOS will be Aviation Mechanic, my school is going to be in Pensacola, FL but someone told me that they can stick you where ever you want... even if it has nothing to do with Aviation Mechanic.
I'm just curious to find out if this is true or not, because i don't want to be stuck with something that i don't want.

In general, you get what you contracted for. However, here is a phrase you need to acquait yourself with...

"Convenience of the Government". Wink

Maybe that would be "Needs of the Marine Corps?"

AND, what (WTF) is acquait? Is that a severe lack of spell check?

("Just kidding" to follow)

I guess that, coming off a three day meth binge, Mike, you wouldn't be concerned with spelling.

When I went to Boot Camp, my contract stated that my MOS was going to be in the 03 field. Two days before I graduated, I was called to the admin. building and told that I was going to be a 0621 (Field Radio Operator). Thats just an example of what can happen though I don't think its very common. Join because you want to be a Marine first and foremost.

Well you could bom out of your school and be sent where the Corps needs you. That's your call, what is your problem with the Wing? Only 1 in 12 Marines are in the Wing. Is topic is being moved to the wannabe section...
