What books or material should I study to become an mecanic or work in the aviation field? Ive already worked in tool and die industie for 3 years and now am a draftsman in the engineering department of my shop will this background help me get the job I want?

If you have already worked with tools you shouldn't have to worry about it to much. go to
Barnesandnoble.com and type in ASVAB study guides. the Three best know are the ARCO guide, the Barrons' Guide, and the ASVAB for Dummies. also my suggestion is going to howthingswork.com and looking at how a car engine works.

Try getting a dictionary first

The practice ASVAB's on this site helped me get a general feel for it before I took it.
