I have read several posts that mention potatoes, however a few said that they were good to eat (obviously not fries or chips, but real potatoes) while a couple said to cut them out of your diet. Also, I saw something on the news a long time ago about a guy who lived on potatoes but that they have no real nutritional value. One post said that they are high in potasium. Anyway I just wanted to know if they are good to have in your diet, bad, or if it really doesn't matter.
People have lived on mostly irish (white) potatoes for long periods of time. For those wanting to be in excellent shape it is uaually recommended that they be avoided. It is usually recommended that sweet potatoes or whole grain breads and cerials be comsumed instead.
