Here is the deal. I am 23, I have a bachelor's degree from a private school in MN. The thing is I have like $50,000 dollars in student loans and I think I will be paying about 5 or 6 hundred dollars a month to repay those. Will I be able to afford those payments?
Another decision I have to make is whether or not to attempt the Officer program. I guess I am eligible since I have a college degree. I did well on my ACT after high school and I got like a 2.8 in college. The thing is I really want to join. I love being active and love what it would mean to become a marine. Any advice would be appreciated. |

This member, or Numbers,
Since we dont know your name, that's what we will call you. Welcome to the Wannabe forum. Since this is your first post, I wont crucify you yet. Click here. Go through the links, I have consolidated a lot of info in one place. Do some research, and we will be more than happy to clear things up for you. There is a lot of information already on the boards. Money wise, if you have a payment like that, it will be tight, but probably doable if you follow a tight budget. Have you asked you recruiter about the National Call to Service student loan repayment? Talk to him about the particulars. If you are looking into Officer programs, contact your local Officer Selection Officer. |
