I'm sure most have seen the movie Jarhead and saw the calf branding that went on in the movie. My uncle who is a retired Marine was a shooting range coach and was offered a chance to be a Scout Sniper but realized he needed at least two years left on his contract which he did not have but he also said that he did not want the brand that Scout Snipers get, so my question is... have any of you received this brand, and if so what were you're feelings about it? Is it pride, or humiliation or what?

No but i believe the ones I look up to the most. I didn't believe it until he said it. I'm Just looking for some clarification sir. Just wondering thats all.

Don't believe everything you see on the big screen. The entertainment industry releases movies that embellish (aka, Hollywoodized) the truth!

.....snipers did due the brand (similar in appearance to Waffwn SS).....some people just don't know....especially those that didn't serve in an AD grunt Bn....
