1. I wear glasses and I wear a band that hooks to the two arms and keeps the glasses snug on my face when I am running. Will I be allowed to bring or purchase something like that during Boot Camp?
2. Can I bring or purchase a watch?
On a side note, I have a habit of getting up a couple of times in the middle of the night to take a leak. This may be a stupid question but will I be allowed to do that.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse."
1. it's called a brainstrap in bootcamp and you are required to wear one if you wear the BC glasses.
2. you cannot bring or purchase a watch. we were allowed to purchase a watch during sunday libo (last sunday before you graduate) but could not wear it until we left the island. time doesnt really matter anyway, you wake up at 0400, go to bed from 2000-2100. what you do between that time frame differs on the day and the stage of bootcamp you're in.
3. you are allowed to piss all night if you wanted to, but you'll eventually get the timing down of you piss before hitting the rack or right after the lights go out, when you wake up, before PT, and whenever the rest of the platoon goes. but for nights, they never bothered us unless the were out of the hut and we did something stupid from your rack to the head and back.
This reminded me of one of my platoon members. This guy was from an old money, upper crust family (think Dupont). This guy's family had zero concept of boot camp life. Every freaking night during 1st phase he would receive crazy care packages from home. I mean he got hot plates, sweaters (in PI during the summer, wtf over). He got fancy beer steins, all this crazy rich people crap. This lasted for about 2 weeks untill our Senior made him call home to stop the packages. Needless to say, mailcall was pretty funny. On a side note, this cat did real well in bootcamp. Kind of surprised me as he was the stereotypical rich kid from New England.

That's it right there!
To address your other issue, if you've got a prostate problem now or you don't know (I'd find out if I was you), it's only going to increase when they start forcing you to hydrate with massive doses of water all day long.
I know we were not trusted to hydrate freely, we stood on line and consumed as a platoon.
