I just currently moved out of state and figured it to be a good idea to join the marines. Im in the DEP and have a scheduled leave date for boot camp. I have no one to talk to and hope that someone would know what to do about my problem.
I'm pregnant and a recruiter is responsible. We've been dating the whole time and it is completely consensual and the LAST thing I want to do is get him in trouble.

Wow, I'm sure you are very emotional right now. But just take it one step at a time. First thing to do is tell the Recruiter. He needs to be made aware. Take it from there and things will fall in place. Congratulations on your new child. Everything happens for a reason. Never forget that. A real Marine believes in God and God will not let you go through anything you can not handle.

How do you know what a "real Marine" believes? Stop giving advice on this forum.

As for the OP - you have to tell the Marine Corps that you are pregnant. You don't want to get to Parris Island only to be sent home. As for whether or not you want to get the recruiter in trouble, that is up to you. Remember, though, that his "dating" you (if what you are saying is true) is against the regulations so he has no one to blame but himself. If he is married, that is even worse. I wouldn't worry about his career at this point, I would worry about myself and figure out what the best thing to do for you is. Good luck.

I truely meant no disrespect. I spoke about something that I do not know about completely yet. Sorry for any of you marines out there. That title comes with alot of hard work and devotion, I dont have the right to comment in that manner. My father was a marine and I was brought up in the life style. Won't happen again.

I know I'm not a Marine yet either, but holy crap, show some respect. It's Marine, not marine.

Are you sure about that? Do we need an example?

Your damn skippy it wont happen again! Had you been my kid, I would have smacked you up side your grape for your lack of attention to detail and your consistent brain farts.

Alright first off, I am not a kid. So stop being a d-bag. I appologized and am currently having issues typing with both hands because of my shoulder surgery. So forgive the lack of capitals. Have to strike the caps lock, then key, then caps lock and continue on.

So why not just 'not type'

sometimes its better to not make a comment than it is to make one.....

the d-bag comment only gets you deeper in the hole....

You need to tell the MEPS that you are pregnant and can not ship.

Does he plan to marry you, probably not. The two of you need to figure out what the next move is going to be. If he gives you flack about it AT ALL, you need to tell MEPS who got you pregnant. If he is married, you need to report this RIGHT AWAY. He not only screwed you, he screwed his wife too.

Do not play games with him. Regardless of what you say, you need to get a DNA test to prove that he is the father. You may need to prove later that he is the father if you have to get support from him for the child.

Conscensual or not, he is wrong and he broke the rules.

Understand this very clearly...... You didn't get him in trouble! He got himself in trouble for breaking the rules.

I have to ask: Does the Marine Corps have a paper that recruits sign similar to what the Army has.. which is... a paper that lists the rules of behavior between a recruit and a recruiter? I remember signing something that specifically forbade any relations what-so-ever between my recruiter and I. It also listed not recieving gifts, not being allowed to accept money in exchange for personal services, babysitting, etc.

If so.. then she broke the rules just as much as he did.

Yes, the Marine Corps has a paper that recruits sign that lists the rules of behavior between the recruiter and the recruits.

I know. I signed it. Breaking rules is bad where government contracts are involved. What a depressing situation this is.

The Recruiter is in charge of this inductee. He has had Marine Training AND Recruiter Training which specifically forbids contact of this sort between potential Marines and Recruiters.

Yes, she had free-will, but ultimately she is not the one who will be prosecuted for this, because she is not in, HE is.

In my book, he has lost all of his INTEGRITY.
