Where can I go to find information on MOS 9620. I am looking for things like training locations for this MOS, length of training, and the difference between the enlisted with this MOS and an officer with this MOS. I have been having a hard time finding anything, most likely because search engines suck and I am a civilian, so I have no idea where to look! So who better to go to for help, then the elite....Marines themselves!

Google is your friend. It took all of .29 seconds to get 288,888 replies to a simple "MOS 9620" query. AND the first link shown was very detailed.

Think about overcoming and adapting.

Help us help you Megg. Who are you, what are you doing now and where are you going with this. Following Ninja's advice I ran smack dab into what Hollywood posted: open to 75XX (pilot) officers. Are you planning on being a pilot or is this something you cross referenced based on your college course of study??? Again, help us help you. Where are you going with aeronautical engineer???

my son was sworn in on Sept 1 under the DEP program, he leaves for bootcamp on July 19. He did not get any of the top 3 picks of his for his MOS, however was approved for Aeronautical enginneering. everything i find online says it is available only to aviation officers, however when i look on Marine sites, it has it listed as both an officer MOS AND and enlisted MOS (only 9620 MOS) all other MOS's for this are listed as officer only (6005, etc), Every time I call my son's recruiter, he is away from the office, and never seems to remember to call me back when he is at the office. I just want as much info as possible on my son's MOS. I have found the two schools for training, one being in CA, and one in Daton OH, but wondered if there were others as well.

I'd go to the Wingers like 53Ninja with this one as it's their community. There USMC Aviation Forum is lower on the same screen you use to get into Wannabe Forum.

This is their Military.com direct link.

Any MOS that begins with a "9" is not a primary MOS, and therefore your son could not have enlisted for it. It is a secondary MOS only.

FINALLY talked to the recruiter today, and recruiter says that 6005 is not an officer only MOS, which i thought it was, and that is my son's most likely MOS...that said, his official approval was for 60xx, 61xx and 62xx. This helps with all the confusion and gives me something more to google, with better information...so off i am to search!! thanks for all your help!! I am sure i will end up with more confusion and more questions in my searches,, as i hate trusting all the info found on the web!! LOL No matter what I know my son is happy to just become a Marine, and even happier to be in anything related to aviation (he would love to one day be a Marine pilot after all)

Artillery brings dignity to what would otherwise be just a brawl.
