Does anyone know where I can find a list of "B" billets for officers? I've searched and searched, and have only come up with lists for enlisted Marines.

Thanks!

I have to agree with the Lt on this. You are almost 16 years old. The thing you need to worry about right now is keeping your grades up and having fun in High School. Your Junior year is where you need to start looking at colleges and start getting things together on how you are going to attend college: Academy/ROTC etc. You are looking too far into the future.

I don't see the problem with knowing as much as possible about the military before joining. Just as long as you don't lose sight of what you have do accomplish before you have to worry about "B" billets
If you really want to know, you will find all kinds of info at marineocs.com. There is no need to post a new question though, you should be able to find out about "B" billets with the search function.

I agree, but why worry about point D when you haven't even made it to point A yet?

I'm not "worrying" - I'm curious. Yeah, it's a ways off, but what's wrong with being curious and asking a question?

Go ahead and trash this thread. I already tried searching, but I'll search some more.

Basically, officer billets parallel those of enlisted billets. Junior officers are not likely to be assigned to B billets.

Just some off the top of my head for company grade officers:

Series Commander at a Recruit Depot
Marine Officer Instructor at NROTC unit
Officer Selection Officer
The Basic School Instructor
Marine Security Guard Region/Company (whatever they now call it) Inspecting officer
Instructor at your MOS school (ie Arty School, Tank School, flight school, etc...)
Officer Candidate School Instructor (permanent personnel)
Operations Officer/executive officer at a Recruiting Station

I have seen senior 1st Lt's in every single billet above, except MSG (don't know much about this billet).

Nothing except with the number of questions you ask (like the law enforcment careers after the military), it does make it look like you are worrying about making it to one point before going through the required ones first.

I'm not trying to trash anything. I'm not the one with the attitude. You just keep on searching if you want.

Incidentally, all my HS classmates that I knew who "looked too far" and/or were gung ho about joining the military either didn't join, or only served the minimum number of years. Nothing wrong with either of that except they were ALL TALK and didn't really accomplish what they bragged about (which it sounded more like).

This is where I saw the Lt. I mentioned; he was an Inspecting Officer.

-1st time I ever was sort of afraid of a Lt's knowledge.

I'd just like to reiterate (again) that I'm not worried about anything... Really. I'm just very interested in learning about the various things one can do in the Marine Corps.

I apologize if I came across with an attitude, I didn't intend to post anything containing an attitude.

In response to your recent post, however, but with all due respect - you don't know me, so please, don't judge me and compare me to your friends who "looked too far into things and didn't accomplish much". I'm not one to take that type of attitude on, especially with something I truely want.

(Again, please don't take that as though there's an attitude attached. I'm simply voicing my mind.)

No I don't know you, but what you write and post here can be or is a reflection of who/what you are.

Judge? No. Compare? Oh, as a former cadet, I'll do all the comparing I want since all those buddies of mine who looked too far were also cadets.

By all means findout what you want to know, but don't lose sight of what you need to do today!
