New recruit on deck! I'm excited about joining so I just wanted to share my enthusiasm.
At almost 24yrs old I'm older than most recruits. I went through so things early this year that forced me to re-access my life and my goals.
I realized that becoming a Marine with the honor, pride, and respect inherent to that title would allow to stop wondering.
As Pres.Ronald Reagan put it: "Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem." 1985
I go to take the physical and everything Monday. Each step that brings me closer to becoming a Marine makes me that much more excited.

I took the ASVAB last week my score were as follows: AFQT-93 MM-151 GT-139 EL-138 CL-123
Any suggestions on what MOS's I should look into. I want to serve in a capacity that I feel uses my full potential.
I kinda want to be an MP to get experience in Law enforcement since I plan to enter Law enforcement later in life.
I'm also interested in aircraft mechanic/systems tech. more interested in Helis than fixed wings.

Thanks in advance for responses
CJ

Hate to burst your bubble, but you aren't a Recruit (until you've arrived at Recruit Training), and you aren't a Poolie (until you've sworn-in). You are an Applicant, and there's no shame in being one.

Well if there's one thing I'm learning from this forum it's that Marines are very particular about terminology. I'm proud to be an Applicant then,Sir! I will officially be a Poolie Tuesday God-Willing.

Cornell,
Welcome to the Wannabe Forum. I will point you in the right direction for doing some research. Click HERE. There is a lot of information on the forums, do some reading and research, there are Marines here from all different MOSs, so we will be able to answer most, if not all of your questions. After you have done some research, come back and we will be more than happy to clear things up for you.

Do whatever you WANT to do in the military. The law enforcement field has just as many military vets who were grunts, air traffic controllers, cooks, and motor-T jocks as it does former MP's. In my experience, a civilian law enforcement agency is really only looking for one thing from your initial military service contract: the fact that you got an honorable discharge and, thus, were not a dirtbag. Be an MP if that's what you really want, but it's not necessary to be one in order to become a civilian LEO later on.

Keep in mid they promise you the school not the job. If you feel it might be over your head and you qualify for it give it some thought before signing or saying yes. If you dont pass your school it's up the Marine Corps what they do with you. You might get a 2nd shot at another school then again you might be sent to be something other than the Air Wing. The hardest thing is learning that going out and having fun is for the weekends only while in school. There was a guy from my platoon going to Ejection Seat School while I was in Hyd School, got to the last test and bombed it. He was sent to be a Morterman and never saw him again. Come think about it he was from my home town, Omaha. Most Schools will set you back a week and redo the week if it's a one time thing so there must have been more to the story than was told. Let us know what he offers you, don't sign right away sleep on it no matter what he says. The job will open for you the next day......

To ERR is human, to FORGIVE divine. HOWEVER, neither is Marine Corps Policy

Along with what Tom said you also need to remember that the fact you are older than most recruiters you will be expected to provide a good example.
When I got to my A school out Master Sergeant pulled all of us that were over 21 and told us he would hold us personally responsible if we got anyone underage drunk and they got in trouble. You DON'T want a top holding anything against you.

The Intelligence field is a good idea especially since I want to work for the FBI later in life. I'll see what I can get in that area. Also How would I go from enlisted to officer. Wouldn't I need a degree first?
