Hey, is there any way to find out what job openings there are at reserve units? I went to the website but can't find anything. Any help is appreciated. I want to go into the reserves but I would like to know which jobs are available to me in NYC. I'd like to know before I see a recruiter that way I can go see one knowing the job I want as opposed to being convinced into a job that I may not want. Thanks everyone

It will be entirely in your best interest to go speak with a recruiter. If you want to go into the reserves, you limit yourself to what jobs may be available to you. You will not be able to find a list of entry level jobs available in reserve units on the internet.
There are 3 reserve units located in the NYC area.
6th Communications Battalion, Brooklyn
Surgical Company B, 4th Medical Battalion, Bronx
2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, Garden City, NY (Infantry)

Reserve units only have a limited amount of slots and MOS's per year. The recruiter's command receives a list of these slots. The only way to know exactly is to talk with a recruiter. Most recruiters, once you say you want reserves will ask why the reserves, but if you let them know reserves is the only option you want to look at then they usualy just let you know what slots are available. Then they have to figure out if you can qualify for them.
