Getting into an Indoc isnt hard at all. In 1/3 we're having 2 before we go back over the lake. Open to all Marines who've been on the island for 21 days. So everyone except the dump we're getting from pendelton on friday will most liekly be there. All you have to do is show up, and survive.

Started with a PFT, then he got PT'd more, then they did a run around the local base area and finished at a classroom-type building. Went in and had to pass a land-nav/infantry knowledge test with no rest while the cadre goes around screaming at you, banging fists on desks, extremely loud music and porno playing in the background. After that, they ran back outside and started a hump with full gear/weapon (don't remember length) which they basically ran the whole way, every now and then they would stop and have to play games with digging stuff out of the pack, then stuff it back in and start moving again. Once they got to the destination, did a land nav to an LZ. Sat there all night, no sleep, played games and got PT'd. Did another land nav. Did another hump except with each person carrying railroad ties. At their destination they had to dig fighting holes, except the ground there was impossible and it was already extremely cold/raining. At this point he and his partner DOR'd.

Just trying to warn you...everybody who talks about wanting to be recon/sniper always tends to brush off the indocs as something minor on the way to all the sexy training and schools. The indocs are there for a reason, namely to weed out 90%+ of people who apply. But if you think you can handle it, knock yourself out.

Oh, wait, the indoc is just the beginning of your misery too. Try being a PIG day in and day out. You wont read that part on your little postings either little ones. Everyday in the sniper plt. is a test. The pack runs and the up all nights and the studying doesn't stop with the indoc. Most guys wait almost a year or more before they get to go to sniper school and shed their pig status. Don't look past that either. Being a PIG is ten times harder than sniper school could ever be. There is a reason for that. It's so you'll pass your first time through.

Every news story I read about them usually goes something like "Cpl So & So regularly works 20 hour days preparing chow for the Marines of --".
Either that or entering contests to have a master guns taste test your mac and cheese.

20 hour days my balls. Most of the time they're in the MWR jack dicking off on the phone with their hooker girlfriends. While i'm in the chow shack eating a ****in Otis Spunkmeyer muffin and a pop-tart. Everynow and then we'll get lucky though and they'll do their job. Problem is it's one of three things: Pork chop and chunky, overgreased shrimp bull **** surprise, or eggloaf with limp dick bacon. I swear those ****ers take all the milk and good cerial too.
