Well I've been calling around trying to find a recruiter that will help me get in with tattoos. I know a few fresh marines and a guy that just retired, all say I can get them waivered but I have yet to find someone who can help me out. Is there anyone out there that can get me in??

First, delete the USMC from your screen name. You are not a Marine, and do not rate it. Once you have that corrected, tell us the whole story and not part of it. Where are your tatts, what are they of, and how many do you have?

sorry, it was meant to show that the Marine Corps is where i want to go. didn't mean to come off as acting like one. anyways they're pretty much all over my arm. tribal on top, web with star on elbow (i know this one will catch crap but im in NO way affiliated with ANY gang and background checks can prove that), skull with drumsticks for obvious reasons of me being a drummer on other side of elbow, this Harley logo but it doesnt have the words in it, praying hands on outer side of forearm and a VII on inner wrist.
so yea it IS a lot, they all have meanings and what not, my record is clean, no jail, no court, nothing. i went to one recruiter said no, went to another and she tried but when she called up they said too many, and says the policy may change soon. i can "play the waiting game," but everyone i talk to that is currently enlisted and as stated someone who has retired recently and even another who was a gunney a while ago all say the same thing that i can get waivers...

sorry for the novel Smile

The Coast Guard "relaxed" the tattoo policy recently. Not sure if other services are going to follow suit.

I would be supprised if the Marine Corps relaxed policy. It was just made stringent last year, maybe it was the year before. I certainly don't see it changing while Gen. Conway is still Commandant.

OP, I don't know if they are waivering the ammount of tattoos curently, but location can be a part of it as well. Just keep talking to a couple recruiters, eventualy you may either get the waiver you need, or myabe the next Commandant's policy will change and you will be good to go.

I wouldn't sugest getting any more while you wait.

I don't plan on any more haha. The recruiter I just recently went to that got me a little further than the others said it technically wasn't a sleeve lol. And not to sound impatient and/or disrespectful, but I obviously have no ideas how often the commandant changes. Not that I am eager for that change, just saying. seems like thought i get a little farther with each recruiter i contact

1. Lose the Attitude and show some respect to us. We've been there done that, you have not.

2. There is a Tatoo thread at the top of the Wannabe Section, Read it, Make a post that you did read it, then ask s Questions.

3. We are not recruiters, ask yours.

The CMC does not like Tatoo's, end of subject. It's his Marine Corps to set rules and guidence as he see's fit. It's been that way for 240 plus years, it's not going to change anytime soon. I would not even look to the General who may replace him to change the Tatoo policy's. Right now they are turning Wannabes away for many reason as they are meeting there recuiting goals, it's very hard to get in if you need waivers right now.

tom, im not quite sure where i came off as having an attitude and not respecting the Marines. sorry if it may have seemed that way, didn't mean for it to. i have read the tattoo post, and i have spoken to a few recruiters, but i don't want to give up or settle for a different branch. while i don't disrespect the other branches, i only want to be a Marine

It appears that you are a NO GO due to the placement of your tatts. Especially the web on your elbow. You either have them removed or try the French Foreign Legion since you stated you are not joining another branch.
