I chose Motor T as my MOS the other day and would like to know what type of combat action do they see in iraq/afganistan, what do they all do in iraq/afganistan and how often do they get deployed to iraq/afganistan.
I have pretty limited experience with Motor T. I just got my humvee license, but I'll try to give you real advice instead of posting a link to google.
If you're going to be an operator, aka driver, you'll be doing lots of, you guessed it, driving. You wont do a whole lot as far as mechanics go, just basic stuff like checking fluids and all that. You'll probably pick up knowledge from the mechanics though. Also, if you break something, you'll probably have to help fix it.
As far as Iraq/Afghanistan, I can't say for sure. You'll probably do lots of convoys, but the more experienced Marines here can elaborate on all that stuff. Good luck.
In Iraq you will be driving up-armored 7 Ton Trucks, or Armadillos as we refer to them. If you are attached to an Infantry Unit, you will be driving the Grunts around on mounted patrols. As a driver, you aren't supposed to get out of the vehicle unless its absolutely necessary so you probably won't be clearing rooms and all that fun stuff.
So how many hours and days out of the week do motor t people go out and do u sometimes get a break to sleep since you've been driving all day so you to be prepared for the next mission
