OCS is a strange place. For those Cpls and below, you rate Sgt's pay based off your PEBD (so LCpls with 2 years in like me make some decent money). You do not really learn anything extremely difficult academically. The physical training is much more difficult compared to the enlisted initial training (boot camp and SOI), but you are treated 10x better and the discipline is a bit more relaxed, as the instructors are trying to evaluate your leadership skills. One way it was put to me was:
I just enlisted in the marine reserve and im under the 92day split option reserve plan. I want to be an officer and I going into my third year of school. I just want to know what my options are.

I want to be an officer and I going into my third year of school. . .My goal is to be an officer someday, the only problem is my ASVAB score is dissapointing and I know I could of done SOOO MUCH better, and the requirements for plc also are a 1000 on the SAT. But I have a 3.1 GPA and have proven myself in school. Do I still have a chance in getting in PLC or OCS for that matter.
I take it your SAT score was below 1000?
Do you know what your EL score was on the ASVAB? You have to achieve an EL score of 115 or better.
As far as SAT and ASVAB scores for OCS, it's an either or deal. Whether you meet the 1000 SAT req or the 115 EL, one or the other will be used in that requirement.
Your GPA is pretty decent for an OCS ap. The minimum to get into Marine OCS is 2.0
Other things to get into OCS:
pass the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test with a score of 225 or better Go through a comprehensive pre-commissioning physical Since you're going to be USMCR, get your commanding officer's recommendation (a big one, if he/she does not endorse your OCS ap, you're not getting in, no matter how competitive your other areas are. So you best be an outstanding Marine) Strong recommendations from teachers, professors, clergy, employers, etc.
Try officer.marines.com to see if you can get more info. Where in VA are you?
I am 25 a year old with a masters degree and am considering both the ANG and Marine Corps reserve (been lied to too many times my AR and ARNG recruiters). It is my understanding that ALL potential USMC reserve officers must attend the 6 month long TBS?

Thanks
That is incorrect. ALL COMMISSIONED officers must attend TBS (it is 6 months long) ... not potential officers.
If by "potential officers" you mean those wanting to become officers, assuming they are chosen, they must attend OCS (Officer Candidate School).
In reading these boards, you see PLC (Platoon Leaders Course) and others mentioned, they are various forms of OCS...same training, same location, same "sorting" process.
If you have successfully completed OCS, you then are commissioned and attend TBS.
With the fact that you have already completed college, and due to your age, I suggest you contact the Officer Selection Officer in your area.... at 25, don't delay........
Thank you for the reply. IF i were to begin a career in the USMC reserves and wished to start no lower than 2nd LT, then I would have to do OCS and then TBS followed by whatever individual training?

When you interject the reserve aspect, I have no personal experience but I don't think that is possible as I have not seen such paths in my experience.
But again, the source of correct and latest information is an Officer Selection Officer.
And the reason I stated not to delay is because there are age requirements for commissioning.

Did you use the "find" button? There are three pages of results for "Naval Academy".
I have a quick question about pay at OCS. During traing, does the candidate recieve base pay, BAH, and any other pay while in Quantico? I'm asking because i'm trying to set up my finances for my family.

You'll be receiving the base pay of a Sergeant/E-5. You may or maynot receive BAH. I don't remember, it's been almost ten years since I went to OCS. Your OSO will have that info.
