I have a question regarding age limits and the Marine Reserves. I have done a search both on google and on military.com for the age limits for someone who wants to join the Marine Reserves and I have seen varying answers.
There was a post on here a week ago and it said 28 years old but that was for Active Duty is it the same for reserves?
I am 28.5 years old if the cut off is 28 years old does that mean that I have to finish boot camp before I am 29, or can I enlist up till the day before I turn 29.
On paper it is 31 with age waiver. However, in the past I have met 32 year old reservist, and heard of 33. Although with the way the Marine Corps has been making their recruiting quotas, it wouldn't surprise me if they are at 28 or 29. You need to speak with a recruiter for the latest word.
3 years ago I was arrested for a DUI, when all was said and done I was not convicted but received a reckless driving ticket for 5 points. This is my first and only brush with the law aside from parking tickets. How does the Corp view an arrest but no conviction? Will I have to apply for a waiver, ( I will disclose everything in application)? I have searched the boards and have found out ramifications of DUI but did not find an answer in terms of if you were not convicted of the charge.
In terms of background, I have a college degree, good work history, Eagle Scout no other arrests.
