Ok. Let me try this one more time. With feeling.

From those of you who are Marines, what is the hand to hand combat system that the Marines employs? Is it something along the lines of a boxing/muay thai standup with bjj holds for grappling?

Once in the Marines, are there schools or dojos or whathaveyou that the Corps encourages its men and women to join, or is it there some Marines beat 'em up method? I'm pretty sure that's the technical term for it.

I don't think it was a good idea to ask that question. You're only gonna start an Army vs Marines debate.

Artillery brings dignity to what would otherwise be just a brawl.

the marine corps is using mcmap (marine corps martial arts program).

in boot camp you start towards getting you tan belt. you go to the dojo everyday and you practice on one of you buddy's. i do beleave they used to use the "beat 'em up method" but now its considered hazing. at the end of boot camp you are evaluated and if you pass you get your tan belt. after this i do beleave it is required for you to have certain belts to get some rank.

Wrong! A tan belt is required for all Marines. You must earn yours in bootcamp in order to graduate. Officers must get theirs as well. Second at this time the belts have no official effect on promotions or you cutting score. Combat MOSs are required to have a grey belt and the infantry Marines are required to have a green belt.

This is a little off topic, and I am NOT trying to inform anyone about MCMAP. I just wanted to add that there are some interesting videos on youtube showing some MCMAP fights.
