Okay well while reading through the Women's forum, I came across a tidbit that I had never known about, and because the thread I saw it in was chaotic enough with the breakage of "rules", being a wannabe i couldnt post it there, so im sorry...
But is it true that females don't have thier periods in Boot camp?
I ve heard some crazy **** from a female Marine that while at boot camp you get so pumped up and your always being yelled at and its so chaotic that your hormones change, and you stop having a period because your bodies chemicals and all that are wacked out than what they normally are.

During periods of extreme physical exertion females will tend to shut down certain functions in order to conserve energy, and resources. It is common in boot camp, as well as professional athletes. SImply, you rbody realizes that it is using high levels f protein , fat and vitamins, so it tries to conserve as much of that in the body as possible in order to maintain essential functions. The reproductive system although necessary for survival of a species is not required for survival of the individual and is one of the first functions to be shut off by females.

I don't know if it was because I was 26 when I went through (Prior Service AF), and had already had a child from a first marriage BUT....I for one had my "period" TWICE a month while I was in Boot Camp...Arrrrrrrggggggg!! I envied my sister recruits that their's had stopped.

It seems that lately every time a female comes into the wannabe forum you are on here "warning" people.
First, I don't know why you have this double standard between males and females that come on here - if they are all going to be Marines, why not treat them the same way from the get-go? It's fine if you don't want them harassed, but make it the same for both males and females.
Second, if you really don't want males commenting on their questions, then just tell them to go to the WM forum.

Simple answer: Some have it the whole time with no changes, some have it half the time, and some don't have it at all.
It depends on how your body reacts to stress and being in a different environment. There is no one answer for you. You won't know how you will react until you get there.
A veteran - whether active duty, retired, National Guard or Reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand that - Author unknown.
Gentlemen please...if you have nothing to contribute to this thread but garbage, please refrain from commenting. It is a question that deserves serious answers.
I wish just once you smarta$$es would have to have period or experience the hormones we go through. You opinion might change.

No, I am enlisted and going to Boot in late Feburary or early March. I was supposed to leave earlier, but had a "slip up" at MEPs so now I have to go back down there and redrug test, and then wait to get it back. Then I go recontract and direct ship to boot the next day.
But I choose on my profile Marine and other because I am enlisted in Marines and a poolee, and I didn't see that option, sorry if you want me to change it I will.
