Ok, so I went to the recruiters office today to pull up my old ASVAB scores. I gave him my SS number so he coul pull it up. He went next door to the AF office because they have a system where you can pull up peoples scores. Well, my recruiter goes next door and i think everything is all good and fine. Then, he comes back and tells me that my SS number comes up as the name Pierson, which is not my name. I showed him the card to verify that i told him the correct numbers. Can you guys tell me what this means? Could he have just made a mistake when entering or is it something more serious? I have given my SS number to noone except recruiters.
Thank You |

It happens, although very rarely.
Ask him to input it again, to ensure he didn't make an error the first time. Then, if it's still the same, you'll have to contact the Social Security Administration (look in your phone book) and get it straightened out. In my job before I retired, I would receive perhaps two notices a year regarding SSN number and name mismatches. The folks at the SSA, and your recruiter, are human -- and they do make mistakes from time to time. |

Ok, my recruiter said he is going to contact them. I was just worried about identity theft or something.
Thanks |

It is more likely that somebody at MEPS entered your data wrong, or the other persons.
If he went to run your scores, he was having them pull it from a database that recives it's input from MEPS test sites. Or I have also seen where somebody just filled in the wrong bubble on a scantron sheet at a high school test. If you want your score, then have your recruiter call his NCOIC and ask. The NCOIC and usually the recruiter gets a copy of your page 1 of form 1966. On this form at the bottom , your scores are written in. In fact , you may have a copy in the paperwork MEPS gave you. If you aren't contracted, but took the test at highschool then the NCOIC will have a spreadsheet of everybody that took the test and what the scores are. Even if your ssn is wrong, your name will be there with the scores under them. If you are neither contracted, nor did you school test, then you are waiting on MEPS and god only knows when they will get to it. |

I took it at the local USMC Reserve center for the ARNG about a year ago.
I appreciate it. |

Those are called MET site tests.
It was probably a bubble sheet error with the scantron. It really shouldn't take more than a couple days for MEPS to find your scores. the recruiter can have you fill out whats called a form 714 and send it to meps. When they discover the error up there , things move a little faster than when they are pulled at the office from the database |
