Basic Training

Hey guys, I am close to being sworn in and my two questions are:
1.I know that during basic everyone is new but once I get to my first base or where ever I will go am i the new guy or is everybody just meeting like in basic?

2. I will be meeting with my recruiter tomorrow and wanted to know what the qualifications were for the delayed entry program?

Thanks in advance for the answers

1. Depends. If your MOS is high density*, you may arrive with a large group that's right around the same time frame. If your MOS is low density, you'll be the new guy. Chances are, you'll be the new guy.

2. Just sign up for a later departure date.

* High density means there's many junior Marines, of the same MOS, in one unit. For example - infantry. Low density means there's very few Marines of the same MOS in one unit. For example - most MOSs other than infantry.
