My recruiter says that even if I sign up now, I wont be able to go until August 2010. Is it true that it's that full? The main reason I'm asking is to make sure it's true. My mom wants me to be able to walk across the stage when I graduate high school. I believe my recruiter, he's a pretty staightfoward and honest guy, but recruiters are also the best sales people in the world. I'm just making sure.

Basic? Ask the Army or the Air Force recruiters and they can answer your question! Wink

Wrong branch kid. Marines have Recruit Training (aka, Boot Camp). Soldiers go to basic... now shove off!

A major part of our personal and organizational core values as Marines is that we trust each other with our very lives. If you don't feel you can trust your Marine Recruiter then I'd consider either getting a new Recruiter or going to another service.

And listen to your Mother! The Corps isn't going anywhere and we'll still be here AFTER YOU WALK ACROSS THE GRADUATION STAGE. Your Parents have worked long and hard to help you achieve this life milestone so honor them and their wishes. In years to come you'll feel like a total selfish self centered jerk if you blow this once in a lifetime event just to join the Corps when you can achieve the same things a few short weeks later.

Use your head and never forget patience goes a long way ... especially for Marines. Wink

Sorry guys. I know it's called recruit training but I put basic anyway. (If I was in recruit training and would say that, I'd probably get knocked to the ground.) Eek

And I do trust my recruiter... there's just some things I like to make sure.

So, by your logic, you're the guy who will be told to do something by your Cpl but you'll check with the Sgt just "to make sure"...

Think about it...maybe the Corps isn't for you...or maybe it's for you after you graduate.

I'm just saying. This paper work I'm filling out good make or break my career. It's not stupid to ask more than one person the same question about stuff like this.

Wouldn't be stupid just to blindly sign all this work and not research it a little bit!?

We as Marines place TRUST in a high order. To this day my Ex does not understand why I left after the bond of Trust was broken every day by her. Just as if break our bond of trust then you are no good to us, we do give 2nd chances but those are even harder to earn.....

K-EG... what makes you believe your reserve chain-of-command will allow you to transfer? Also, what makes you qualified to post answers to another Wannabe? Read the forum rules and shut your suck!
