Is cigarette smoking a DQ for enlistment? I have quit about 2 months ago, if that matters.

By the way, I'm not TOO much of a dumba$$ anymore, so you can probably disregard that statement under my screen name.

Sir, if I may ask question. Under the Wanabee form they Chemical Ali (sorry if I mispelled the name) Had a section "ask a recruiter" in it I asked a question about being a Marine Corps Sniper, he directed me to a miltary page with a information on being a Sniper in it, it said the smoking while not being a DQ for being a Sniper was a liablity and was looked at when applying. Whould you have any idea how many Marine Corps jobs smoking is considered a liablitly. Personally I don't smoke but am curious.

Thanks for your time.

I have a feeling in my core that you misspelled MARINE CORPS. I doubt that anyone can answer your question. If anyone can, great.

Being a former smoker of 30 yers or so, if you can quit do it now. If you don't your playing with fire. I quit cold turkey on 12/06/06 do to a heart attack at the ripe old age of 47. Granted a few other things figured into this but it could have been worst than it was. the 1st 96 hours is the hardest as yoru getting the nocitine out of you, thne it become inbetween the ears. I was on morphine for about 4 days so got over the 96 hgour hump ok. I'm not a member for the anti-smoking police but I do let smokers know it's not as hard to quit then you think....
